Our Story
In 1989, four Combine brothers decided it was time to bring their mother’s beloved Italian recipes from home kitchen to restaurant. The four brothers purchased and set up shop in the oldest existing commercial structure in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Since that time, Combine Brothers has been serving up huge portions of those same Italian favorites to the residents of Shenango Valley and beyond.
The building has a long and interesting history. Its exterior is reminiscent of the architecture of the early 1900’s, when it was constructed to serve as a general store. The region’s influence is especially evident in the liberal use of iron and steel.
Over the years, the location was home to several businesses, including The Woodside Inn, Bobby’s Inn, The Brass Rail and the Hickory Grille, before becoming Combine Brothers in 1989. Several photographs and memorabilia that adorn the interior walls help tell the stories of the building and the Combine Brothers restaurant.
Recently, the building’s historic art deco and industrial design was seamlessly incorporated into a new outdoor patio.
